The higher your level the better your rewards will be but the system doesn’t give you any hints as to answers to their questions or actions that will increase your level, so it can be pretty frustrating to miss an opportunity where you talk to someone. You unlock these items by increase your friendship level with them through interactions ranging from answering some questions while in town, using them in combat, and some story progression. Your character is introduced as being part of the original attack by the colossal titan which is what began the Attack on Titan anime and has been the driving force for their choice to join the front lines in the defense of their homeland.Īs you progress through the game you will meet the main and side characters and will be given the ability to interact with them in an attempt to increase your friendship, which is the system used to unlock new abilities, increased stats and even get material items to further upgrade your weapons. For what it’s worth, it’s not incredible extensive or detailed as most of the choices are lifted from the existing characters, so it’s possible to create a Mikasa or Eren clone if you really wanted to. It’s a pretty standard creation tool with gender choice, hair, face, body type the whole kit and caboodle. One of the features that was introduced due to the change in perspective was the ability to customize your character. They are the front line and pretty much the only defense against the Titans. Sure it looks a bit better, the camera doesn’t go crazy to the level it used to and the aerial maneuvering is a lot smoother to use but the biggest difference and major selling point is that instead of taking control of the “main characters” like the previous game, you in fact play Attack on Titan 2 as a fellow member of the Scout Regiment, the branch of the military tasked with Titan research and expanding the Human settlements in order to survive. One major thing to get out of the way is that Attack on Titan 2 doesn’t pick up from where the first game ends in fact, you are actually going to replay most of the original game all over again watching the same cutscenes and fighting the same battles you did in the previous game. Please keep in mind, if you haven’t seen the second season of the Anime or want to play this game for its story, I might be detailing some topics that could be considered spoilers in this article so be warned. The original Attack on Titan was developed by Omega Force, a division of Koei Tecmo, which you may know from titles such as Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors and One Piece: Pirate Warriors, in case you haven’t noticed a trend they are the hack and slash kings and have had plenty of time to hone their own skills in the genre. That was all it took for me to finally dive in one hell of an intro. Later I found out it was the first season intro to Attack on Titan and my mind was made up I had to see what this was buzz all about. Flash forward to 2016 and I hear an intro which was amazingly catchy and I absolutely loved. When the Attack on Titan anime was originally released in 2013 I told my friends it was one show I just could not get into due to what I perceived as unnecessary gore and bloodshed, never mind the fact I’d seen shows such as Psycho Pass and Hellsing which as we all know was blood EVERYWHERE.
